Did
you know that according to the 2003 NC State The
Health Survey, 76% of NC State support the enforcement
of legal age restriction on alcohol use? Did you also
know that only 14% thought that NC State’s alcohol
policy was too strict, yet students thought that 42%
of students would think that the policy was too strict?
It’s true! Again, most students support the law
but they think that their peers would not support it.

According
to District 26 Commander Captain Dennis Poteat (Raleigh
Police Department) 50% of all noise
violations occur in West Raleigh, where many NC State
students live. Captain Poteat noted that after 11PM
any loud noise is illegal. Police determine what’s
loud by standing on the nearest public property or
sidewalk. If they hear it, it’s too loud. If
police stand in an adjacent apartment and determine
with at least one other person that the noise is too
loud, it is considered a violation. The full noise
code can be viewed at here.
