| This program is for women who want to become peer educators
and campus leaders in the effort to help women reduce their risks
for sexual assault and other forms of violence.
It is impossible for the victim to prevent an assault; only the
perpetrator can stop the violence. This program will educate and
empower women to make informed and positive choices that may reduce
their risk of being a victim of violence. In addition, learn information
that you can use to help a friend who is raped or sexually assaulted
or in a violent relationship.
Women can become peer facilitators can earn
up to three credits for the training and program outreach
activities by enrolling in the coed class PEH 335. For course information
call 515-9355 and ask to speak with the Director of Health Promotion. This course also includes a standard
self-defense program.

Topics in the one-hour workshop available include:
- issues related to sexual communication and consent
- recognizing red flags and learning to listen to one's instincts
- being proactive on media influences and rape culture
- ways to support survivors of sexual assault and relationship
violence
- share information on date rape drugs and tips on the prevention
of and what to do if
- you are a target stalking
- promote the use of on and off campus resources
