According to the Chronicle of Higher Education, the proportion of foreign athletes at NCAA Division I schools has doubled since the beginning of the decade. In hopes of filling their rosters with world-class players, collegiate coaches regularly court those foreign student-athletes, about two dozen of which end up at NC State each year.

Educating the public about nanotechnology and other complex but emerging technologies causes people to become more "worried and cautious" about the new technologies' prospective benefits, according to a recent study by researchers at North Carolina State University.
