Laura Linker's primary area of interest is Restoration and eighteenth-century British literature and culture, with a particular focus on the theater and court of Charles II. She has presented her research at the American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies and the Folger Shakespeare Library, where she received a grant. Her publications on seventeenth-, eighteenth-, and nineteenth-century writers have appeared in such journals as Papers on Language and Literature and CEA Critic, and she is currently at work on a book that considers the female libertine from the Stuart to the early Georgian periods. She is a Lecturer in the Department of English at North Carolina State University and teaches a thematically-based writing course on libertinism at Duke University.
