Mary Helen Thuente, Professor of English, has been a member of the English Department since 2001 when she joined the NCSU faculty as its Department Head. A recipient of both teaching and research awards, she has published widely in Irish Studies. She is a past President of the American Conference for Irish Studies. Her books include W. B. Yeats & Irish Folklore and The Harp Re-Strung: The United Irishmen and the rise of Irish Literary Nationalism.
