This course shares information about the Raleigh community: how it functions, what goods and services are provided (anything from local theater, education, historical sites, and law enforcement), what it means to be and how one can be an engaged member (moreover, teach civic awareness) of a democratic society, and why local institutions and community matters. This course is the perfect opportunity for students on campus to explore the Raleigh community and appreciate the diverse services and resources that they have available to them.
