Description: |

This seminar is conducted in the style of many advanced graduate classes. Each week we do a series of assigned readings- during our class periods we engage in VIGOROUS discussions dealing with the many faceted environmental issues confronting modern societies. Such issues as Global Warming, Population Growth, Genomics and Bioengineering, nuclear power and other topics are covered in depth. Each student is required to "lead" a discussion topic and write a term paper for presentation to the seminar. The use of CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS is the raison d' etre of the course! |
