About the Village
The Honors Village is a collaborative partnership between University Housing and the University Honors Program that provides the opportunity to learn and live in a vibrant academic residential community. The Honors Village provides a unique living-learning environment that will help participants apply class experiences directly to life experiences through: intellectual and affective growth including personal, academic, and professional development; appreciation for demographic and intellectual diversity; and interaction with faculty and staff. Academic engagement and research opportunities are core to the mission of the University Honors Program and student experience in the Honors Village assists students in completing UHP requirements. Honors Village assists students in completing UHP requirements.
Mission Statement
Sponsored by the UHP and University Housing, the Honors Village enhances their missions as well as the mission of NC State University by providing a unique living-learning environment that will help participants apply class experiences directly to life experiences through

- Interaction with faculty and staff.
Objectives
Participants will:
- Take part in social, cultural, and academic programs, both formal and informal; gaining a sense of community (“of belonging”);
- Interact with faculty outside of class by seeking mentor/mentee relationships with faculty and staff;
- Respect others’ differences by appreciating diversity, especially as it allows them to better understand themselves and others;
- Experience personal growth; and
- Develop strategies that allow them to succeed academically and professionally.
