**Fall 2014 UHP Admissions Update**
The University Honors Program has closed the invitation process for fall
2014 admissions. We will no longer issue automatic or self-invite invitations to prospective students. If you are a prospective student and you have not been invited to apply, please keep in mind that there will be two opportunities to join during your first year.
If you have been invited to apply the final deadline for all applications will be on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. EST. We will be notifying students of their admissions status on April 1, 2014.
If you have any questions about the University Honors Program admissions process, please contact our office at 919-513-4078 or by email at email@example.com.
At NC State, we're proud to have the best and brightest join us in the pursuit of learning. The NC State University application process begins online. Prospective students create an account on WolfPAW, your NC State Personal Admissions Website. A student can begin the application process once this account is created. Prospective students are allowed to start an application, save the work, and go back later to review the application and make changes to the application before submitting it. For more information about the admissions process you can contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 919.515.2434.
Admission to the UHP is not automatic and a separate application is required. Prospective students can obtain an application one of two ways:
- Students that have been accepted to NC State and meet the following academic criteria
a. 1300 SAT score – Critical Reading and Math only and
b. 4.5 weighted/or 3.75 unweighted GPA
- Students that have been admitted to NC State and fall short of the criteria can self-invite. To request an invitation a prospective student should call the UHP office at 919.513.4078 and request an invitation.
Invitations to apply to the UHP correspond with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions notification dates. The UHP generally sends out invitations about 1 week after a notification date.
The UHP application process is electronic. Admitted students are notified through their WolfPAW account and an email alert that they have been granted access to the application. Students are issued a deadline to complete their application. Students can request an extension by contacting the UHP office. Applications are submitted via the WolfPAW account.
Each application is reviewed twice by a team of faculty reviewers and students are notified of their status on April 1.
Admission is based on the UHP assessment of your potential for exceptional academic work at NC State. We can reach this decision based on a review of SAT scores, high school grades, rigor of courses taken in high school, class rank (when available) and evidence of creativity, initiative, and aspirations for excellence.
