For specific information, along with virtual tours of each facility, see our Residence Halls page.
The Early Bird Gets the Room
You know the old familiar saying, "the early bird gets the worm"? Well, when it comes to submitting your application to live on campus at NC State, that notion definitely rings true. To get that "worm" – and because our room assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis – the best policy, always, is to apply early. There is no requirement to live on campus. Once you are offered acceptance to NC State, you may apply to live on campus.
Each year, more than 75 percent of incoming freshmen choose to live in 20 residence halls, which are grouped into three areas: West, Central and East. Browse the information links to learn more about our residence halls and apartments (upper-class students in Wolf Village, Western Manor or ES King Village). Find out about our Living & Learning Villages where students live with others who are pursuing similar goals, and are part of a supportive community of mentors and faculty.
Make sure you are up-to-date with the latest cost information and the guidelines contained in the University Housing Agreements. If you are not 18 years old by August 9, 2013, complete the Parental Approval Form (pdf).
When and How to Apply for the Residence Halls
Once you are accepted by NC State, you may apply for on-campus housing. You do not have to pay the Admissions Advanced Enrollment Deposit prior to applying for housing. Note: University Towers and College Inn are not part of University Housing.

Living and Learning Villages
Learning takes place not only in the classroom, but outside it as well. In partnership with several academic departments, University Housing provides Living and Learning Villages that let students pursue their academic and personal goals in close collaboration with mentors, professors and others who share the same interests. A Living and Learning Village provides a place where undergraduates who share similar interests and pursuits can live and study under one roof.
