Fulbright Student Grants

Posted: August 23, 2012

To be eligible for a Fullbright Student Grant, a student must be a US citizen.  All majors are eligible, but each country outlines priority and/or restricted fields of study. Open to graduating seniors, recent graduates, and Masters/PhD students. No stated GPA, but 3.5 or higher is helpful. Applicants should emphasize a plan for study/research that is feasible and fits goals and should provide a good rationale for the host country. Language proficiency varies depending on the host country. Duration is 9-12 months.

Over 1,500 grants are awarded to U.S. students annually. Different numbers of grants are allotted to each host country and fund most expenses associated with tenure abroad (round-trip transportation, maintenance for the academic year, book and research allowances, health insurance, full or partial tuition (if enrolled at a university), language or orientation courses (where appropriate).
