What: Churchill Scholarship Information Session with Mr. Peter Patrikis, Executive Director of the Winston-Churchill Foundation

Date: Tuesday, September 18

Time: 4-5:30 p.m.

Location: Multipurpose Room, Honors Village Commons Building

The Churchill Scholarship is a one-year award that leads to the Masters of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in the many areas of the Biological Sciences, the Physical Sciences, and Engineering or to the Master of Advanced Study in Pure Mathematics or Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics from the University of Cambridge. Churchill Scholars reside in Churchill College. 

Applicants are evaluated on exceptional academic achievement (GPA 3.7 and above recommended); a record of advanced research and study; awards; honors and prizes; and outstanding personal qualities. Applicants must pursue graduate study in science, engineering or mathematics. Applicants must also complete an application to their program of interest at Cambridge which is due in mid-October.  NC State can nominate two graduating seniors each year for the Churchill Scholarship. Nominees are selected in the spring of their junior year with a campus application deadline in April. 

Duration: 1 year Master’s Program at the University of Cambridge.

Number and Amount: 14 scholarships are awarded each year. This Scholarship pays all University and College fees; provides a living allowance; reimburses travel costs to and from the United Kingdom; and offers a travel award of $500 for Scholars to travel throughout the UK.
