Campus Sustainability Day

Posted: September 13, 2012

The University Sustainability Office and their partners are inviting all NC State students, faculty, and staff members to celebrate Campus Sustainability Day on Friday, September 21, 2012 (rain date October 12, 2012).

This year, Campus Sustainability Day will include two events:

The Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Grand Opening
11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Behind Partners I, 1017 Main Campus Drive, Centennial Campus

Participants at this event will walk  away with knowledge about  Centennial Campus’s new electric vechicle charging stations, the ability to test drive three different electric vehicles, not to mention free Howling Cow ice cream.

The Reusable Regatta Raft Race
Build Time: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Race Time: 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Lake Raleigh, Centennial Campus

The Reusable Regatta is a friendly competition that exists in order to help spread awareness about the importance of sustainability and waste reduction on campus. For a $10 fee, participants have the opportunity to build and race a raft of their own using only recyclable materials. All participants need to register at go.ncsu.edu/CSD in order to take part in this event.

Parking on Centennial Campus is limited and requires an appropriate permit. Participants are encouraged you to use alternative forms of transportation to attend each event, such as walking, biking, or riding the Wolfline.
