Building Bridges: Strengthening Leadership for Diverse Communities Workshop allows you to gain self-awareness, stretch beyond your comfort zone, and gain new understanding. This unique workshop is interactive and experiential. Participants become both teachers and learners.

Participants will:

Ø celebrate similarities and differences

Ø identify misinformation about other groups

Ø identify and heal from internalized oppression

Ø claim pride in one’s own group identities

Ø gain empowerment by learning ways to challenge demeaning comments and actions

All members of the NC State University community may attend this workshop free of charge. This includes all employees and students. Registration is taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

The workshop is scheduled for October 30 (Part 1) and November 1(Part II), 9 a.m. – 12 noon in Winslow Hall’s first-floor conference room. Register at http://oied.ncsu.edu/oied/education/oied_reg.php.  We hope to see you there!
