Interested in serving the campus community? Consider a Resident Advisor position with University Housing. Resident Advisors live on campus and provide programming and mentorship to fellow students.

Becoming an RA is a unique learning and leadership experience. RAs also receive compensation for their time commitment, including a free single room, meal plan, stipend, and Resnet.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates must be enrolled as a full time NC State student, maintaining at least 12 undergraduate credits or 9 graduate credits, and
Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.70 or higher at the time of application. At the time of appointment, RAs must hold no less than a 2.70 cumulative grade point average and maintain both a 2.70 cumulative and semester grade point average once hired.
Candidates must have no active record of University disciplinary action at the time of application or appointment.
Candidates must have at least two (2) completed semesters of on-campus living experience, or other approved "similar experience," by July 2013.
Candidates must complete 24 undergraduate credit hours prior to employment start date. Any exception to this policy is subject to review by University Housing administration.
Candidates must register for and complete ECD 220 prior to first semester of employment. Interested candidates must register to take ECD 220 during the spring or summer semesters.
