Move-Out, Summer School and Intern Housing

The flowers are budding, the days are getting longer, and students are preparing for Spring break – all signs that spring has sprung. While many are enjoying the signs of spring, University Housing is preparing for summer. Yes – SUMMER!  Counting from March 1, students only have 40 week days until the last day of classes. Below are some items important items to consider as summer approaches.

Spring Holiday (Easter)

  • The Residence Halls and Wolf Village will remain open during the Spring Holiday, March 28-29.

Summer Move-Out

  • Halls officially close May 10 at noon for non-graduating students. Your son or daughter will need to have all their belongings out of their hall by this date. Ask your student about their final examine schedule, and find a move-out time that fits both of your needs.
  •  If your son or daughter is graduating, they can stay in their halls until May 11 at 5:00pm. However, take our advice and don’t wait until the last minute. Who wants to be worried about moving out during graduation festivities?
  • If your son or daughter lives at Wolf Village, they do not have to check out until May 13 at 5:00pm.
  • University Housing and Waste Reduction and Recycling provide a Wolfpack and Give program that allows students to donate unwanted items during move-out to local charities. Bins are set-up throughout campus. Encourage your student to donate any unwanted items!

Summer School

If your son or daughter is planning to attend summer school at NC State, University Housing can be their home for the summer.  University Housing offers a 3-week (Maymester), 5-week and 10-week living option for those students taking summer courses. Choose the option that fits your needs! Stay tuned to our website for more details.

Summer Intern Housing

Is your student planning to stay in the Raleigh area for a summer internship or co-op? University Housing provides internship housing from May 18-August 3. For $21.50 per day, your student can live in a 4-bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment at our Wolf Village complex. Pricing includes internet and cable television. For more information on the Intern Housing Program – visit our website.

(If your student needs help finding an internship, encourage them to visit the Career Services website.)
