Welcome Letter

Dear Campus Resident,

Welcome to University Housing! Our talented staff and student leaders are committed to serving you and working with you to create an atmosphere conducive to academic, intellectual, social, and emotional growth.

University Housing is a place we hope you will be proud to call your home while at NC State. Whether you are a new or returning student, University Housing professional staff, along with Resident Advisors (RAs), hall councils, desk staff, and orientation teams will help you get to know other students, learn your way around, and get involved in campus life.

Being part of the on-campus community means more than just residing within four walls. Living within the residence halls and on-campus apartments provides opportunities for interpersonal interactions with other students, faculty, and staff; access to campus resources; direct links to all university technology systems; and above all else, it provides a connection to the campus community as well as the greater city of Raleigh.

Once you move in and prior to the start of classes, every resident is asked to attend a floor meeting. This meeting will be conducted by your RA, and is an excellent opportunity to meet your floor mates, help establish floor policies and expectations, and learn about opening week events. Be sure to check out the Wolfpack Welcome Week events August 15 - 22. I know you will find numerous activities that you will not want to miss.

Once you get to campus and have a question, a problem, or need assistance, ask your RA!  They’re very prepared to help you be successful here at NC State.

Before you arrive, direct your questions to our assignments office by calling (919) 515-2440, sending us an email or an Instant Message.

Enjoy the rest of the summer. We look forward to seeing you in August!

Susan Grant
Director, University Housing
