University Housing at NC State invites you to stay in one of our guest rooms located at the Avent Ferry Complex. This is a comfortable, convenient, and economical alternative for guests affliated with the University who want to stay close to campus. Eligibility
To be eligible, you must be affiliated with the University as visiting faculty/staff, prospective students, or friends and relatives of University employees. To check the availability of ES King Village guest rooms or the Wolf Village Apartment, please call (919) 515-2430.
Costs
- $28 per night - single or double occupancy
- Fully furnished private room with private bath
- Wired Internet access: $5.00 per night, per user ID. (Ethernet cable required)
Internet Access
Internet access is available for an additional $5.00 per night. Guest rooms are wired, and you will need to bring an ethernet cable if you request this service. However, wireless access can be found in the lobby area near the service desk.
By choosing to use Internet access during your stay, you agree to abide by the terms and conditions set forth by ResNet for this service. The terms for service include abiding by the NC State University Administrative Regulations for Computer Use and other applicable state and federal laws and NC State rules and regulations.
Guest Meal Options

in the Dining Hall):
- Breakfast: $5.50
- Lunch/Brunch: $7.00
- Dinner: $7.50
- Additional options are also available in several food court locations on campus.
Parking
- If an overnight permit is needed, a one-day permit can be provided at no charge and will be available upon arrival.
- For extended stay guests, parking permits may be purchased from NC State Transportation (longer than overnight). Please call 919-515-3424 for more information.
Reservations
Due to the great demand for guest housing, online reservation requests are required and processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Reservations must be made via the Conference Services website at least 1 week prior to your arrival. As of March 2009, prepayment is now required for all new reservations at the Avent Ferry Complex unless the cost will be covered by an NC State University department.
Upon submitting an online reservation request, an e-mail will be sent to you if a room is available for the date(s) you requested. You will then be directed to a website to make payment for your stay. If you fail to make payment within the allotted timeframe, we reserve the right to release your room. Upon receipt of payment, your room reservation is confirmed.
If space is not available, you will receive an email indicating so. You can expect a response within two (2) to four (4) business days after we receive your request.

Payments
NC State University has undergone a shift in receiving and processing credit cards in order to be in compliance with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Compliance Summary. In an effort to provide greater security to you, our guest, University Housing, Conference Services will no longer store guest credit card information.
As a result, as of March 2009, prepayment is now required for all new reservations at the Avent Ferry Complex unless the cost will be covered by an NC State University department.
The service desk at the Avent Ferry Complex does not accept payments for guest housing.
Cancellations and Refunds
We require that all cancellations be submitted and received by Conference Services at least 24-hours before the anticipated date of arrival. We reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee of $28.00 if not given 24-hours notice. Refunds will be promptly issued for proper cancellations.
Amenities
- Each room has a full size bed, dresser, desk, telephone (with local phone service), television with cable, alarm clock, private bathroom and efficiency kitchen furnished with a refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave.
- Linen (sheets, pillows, comforter, towels and washcloths) are provided in each room.
- A variety of restaurants are also located within a short walking distance of Avent Ferry Complex. Vending machines and a recreation room are located in the Avent Ferry Complex common area. A full-sized kitchen is also located on the first floor of Avent Ferry Building F.
- Staff members are available at the 24-hour Service Desk to answer questions and respond to any concerns during your stay. There may be modified desk hours during holidays, scheduled University break periods, and summer sessions. Information will be posted regarding how to contact a staff member if the desk is closed.
- For laundry needs, coin operated washers and dryers are located on the first floor of Avent Ferry Building F.
- Mail delivery for guests is NOT possible in any of our locations. For guests that are staying long term we recommend that if you would like to receive mail, have it addressed to the campus sponsor’s departmental office, or arrange for a short term PO Box at the local United States Post Office.
Please note: There are times when some of these amenities (e.g. TV, microwave, kitchen utensils) may not be available. This does not alter the rate of the guestroom. We will work to provide all items of comfort based on availability. Amenities in rooms are subject to change at any time.
