HARP - Housing Application Renewal Process
HARP is an online system that allows spring 2012 registered students to choose a room and roommate for the coming year. HARP options will be available February 13-25. Registered off-campus students for spring 2012 can complete a housing application, but will be assigned after new students are assigned. How to Start the Process
- Go to the Housing Self-Service page in the MyPack Portal > Current Students and click on the HARP link.
- Students must complete all screens--from verifying/changing lifestyle questions through the survey.
- Non-matching lifestyle responses will display in RED.
- The Assignments' Staff will be available at the University Housing office, 1112 Pullen between the hours of 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. (M-F). Students may call, email or stop by our office for assistance.
Residence Hall Options
- Option 1: Same building, same room (with/without roommate)
February 13, 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. - Option 2: Same building (with/without roommate)
February 14, 8 a.m. through February 15, 3 p.m. - Option 3: Villages, Students involved in Administrative Moves
February 16, 8 a.m. through February 17, 3 p.m. - Option 4: Any residence hall (with/without roommate)
February 20, 8 a.m. through February 22, 3 p.m. - Option 5: Eligible groups, individuals or Sophomore Exceptions moving to Wolf Village
February 23, 3 p.m. through February 25, 1 p.m.
Wolf Village Building G - Eligible Sophomores (Groups of 4 only)
Wolf Village Options
Only a current Wolf Village resident may initiate HARP
- Option 1: Four current residents/current apartment (except Building G)
February 13, 3 p.m. through February 14, 1 p.m. - Option 2: Administrative Move* from Building G into any other Wolf Village building
February 15, 3 p.m. through February 16, 1 p.m. - Option 3: Groups of three residents into any building except Building G
February 17, 3 p.m. through February 20, 1 p.m. - Option 4: One or two residents into any building except Building G
February 21, 3 p.m. through February 22, 1 p.m.
Administrative Move Information
- Students who wish to return to their single room must sign up during Option 1.
- If students wish to live in a different single room, they must sign up for the current single and contact the Assignments Office at 1112 Pullen Hall or by email housing@ncsu.edu to discuss the request.
Hall/Room Availability
- Owen and Tucker residence halls will not appear in HARP.
- Alexander, Bagwell, Becton, and Turlington residence halls will only appear in HARP for those students approved to return to the respective Living and Learning Village for 2012-2013.
- Certain floors/suites/rooms reserved for Living and Learning Villages will only be visible to students approved to return to the respective Living and Learning Village for 2012-2013.
- Watauga Hall is for upper-division students only. New freshmen may not be selected as a roommate.
- Wolf Village Building G is only available for approved sophomore groups of four.
Residence Hall Single Room
- Students who wish to return to their single room must sign up during Option 1.
- If students wish to live in a different single room, they must sign up for the current single and contact the Assignments Office at 1112 Pullen Hall or by email housing@ncsu.edu to discuss the request.
Living & Learning Villages
- Students involved in a Living & Learning Village will receive an email outlining the process to complete HARP.
- Students not re-selected or who choose not to return to the Villages should follow HARP sign-up instructions.
Requested Roommate(s)
- The room/unit must have the appropriate vacancies.
- All roommates must be eligible to participate in the requested roommate process. The student requesting the roommate(s) must enter the name of the requested roommate(s) to reserve the space(s).
- Once the reservation is made, an email will be sent to the requested roommate(s) with instructions and a link to confirm or reject the reservation.
- If at least one requested roommate does not confirm the assignment by the time the option ends, students will have 48-hours to locate another person to fill the vacancy.
- Accepted new freshmen (except in upper-division halls), Co-op, Transfer, and enrolled off-campus students may be requested as a roommate.
Room Changes
Once a student has completed HARP, he/she may log back in anytime except for the Administrative Move options to change assignments.
