H1N1 Influenza Vaccine Clinic Takes Place October 30th
Contact: Scott Braswell
An H1N1 influenza vaccine clinic for NC State students is scheduled for October 30, 2009, at the Talley Student Center Ballroom from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
This clinic is intended for priority groups (as determined by CDC). Priority groups are: pregnant women, people who live with or care for an infant less than six months of age, health care or emergency medical personnel, anyone through age 24, and anyone from 25 through 65 years of age with certain chronic medical conditions or a weak immune system.
A supply of H1N1 nasal spray and a limited amount of H1N1 shots will be available. Pregnant women, people with certain medical conditions or weak immune system, or people over age 49 should receive the shot rather than the nasal spray.
The vaccine will be free, but all students must present their current NC State student ID. All individuals with BlueCross BlueShield NC should present their member card and photo ID to receive the free flu shot.
Check the Student Health Services website frequently for additional updates about opportunities to receive H1N1 vaccine.
A limited supply of H1N1 nasal spray or shots may be available at Student Health by appointment at (919) 515-7107.
