University Housing is pleased that you are interested in applying for a Resident Advisor (RA) position. Please take a few minutes to carefully read the position description and complete the application and requested materials.

To be considered as a candidate, applicants must

  1. Complete and submit an online application - the application deadline is Friday, March 8th, 2013.
  2. Meet all requirements for the RA position.
  3. Submit two (2) completed reference forms. Reference forms are due by by Wednesday, March 13, 2013.
  4. Interview for the position - you will be contacted to schedule an interview.
  5. Be able to meet the full term of the appointment (Students cannot co-op or student teach and hold the RA position simultaneously).
  6. If currently or previously employed by University Housing, candidates must be eligible for re-hire.

Candidate Requirements

  1. Be a full time enrolled NC State student (maintaining at least 12 undergraduate credits or 9 graduate credits),
  2. Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.70 or higher at the time of application. At the time of appointment, hold no less than a 2.70 cumulative grade point average and once hired maintain both a 2.70 cumulative and semester grade point average.
  3. Have no active record of University disciplinary action at the time of application or appointment.
  4. Have at least two (2) completed semesters of on-campus living experience (or other approved "similar experience") by July 2013.
  5. Have completed 24 undergraduate credit hours prior to the employment start date. Any exception to this policy will be subject to the review of University Housing administration.
  6. Register for and complete ECD 220 prior to the first semester of employment. This means interested candidates must register to take ECD 220 during the spring or summer semesters.

RA Information Sessions

All RA candidates are required to attend one RA Information Session.

Each session will be held from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. on the date and location below:

  • October 24: North Hall
  • October 25: Wolf Village Gray Hall Seminar Room
  • October 26: Metcalf Hall
  • October 30: Bragaw Activity Room
  • November 1: Avent Ferry Complex
  • November 2: Honors Village Commons
  • November 5: First Year College Commons Room 106
  • November 7: Bragaw Activity Room
