Postdoc Health Insurance

Eligibility and Effective Dates

Health insurance is offered to postdoctoral scholars/house officers, who are paid through the University payroll system.  To be covered under this benefit plan, postdocs/house officers must be on an active, paid assignment of at least .75 FTE (30 hrs/week).

Health insurance coverage begins on the first of the month following the hire date. (Ex. hired 5/1, coverage begins 6/1; hired 5/31 coverage begins 6/1)

Coverage will end the last day of the month in which the appointee terminates-unless the termination date is the first of the month; then the coverage ends on the first of the month.  (Ex. termination 4/30, coverage ends 4/30; termination 5/2, coverage ends 5/31; termination 5/31, coverage ends 5/31
