Work schedules for evening- or night-shift employees must be adjusted to accommodate the change from Eastern Standard Time to Daylight Saving Time each spring and the change back each fall.

The hour an employee loses each spring (by working 7 of a scheduled 8-hour shift) must be charged to vacation or, with supervisory approval, be made up within the same workweek.

The extra hour an employee works each fall (by working 9 hours rather than the scheduled 8) must be paid to the employee within the guidelines for overtime provisions (if subject).
