Travel Time Compensation
Home to Work
Travel from home to work is not considered work time and is not compensable even if the employee must report to work at a fixed location or at various job sites.
Site-to-Site
Travel during the workday from one job to another is counted as work time. Travel from an outlying job site at the end of the day to the normal work site is work time.
One Day Assignment
Travel out of town during the normal workday is counted as work time except for meal periods and the period of time that normally would be considered as home to work travel time.
Travel Overnight
Time spent traveling during normal work hours, regardless of day of the week, is compensable work time. Travel time outside the normally scheduled work hours is not compensable. However, any time spent performing work tasks while traveling is counted as work time.
