Pre-Employment Testing
In an effort to ensure that applicants meet position requirements, hiring departments may have applicants produce work samples with prior approval from Employment Services. Employment Services also provides clerical skills testing for some job classifications. All candidates must be tested according to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) testing guidelines. For further information, contact the Employment Specialist assigned to your department or division.
Commercial Driver's License Holders (CDLs) Applicants must be tested post offer and prior to assuming safety-sensitive duties. Human Resources will also secure applicants' prior testing results from former employers. Applicants who test positively and are removed from consideration may reapply after 6 months. Testing will be performed by an outside vendor and coordinated by Human Resources. Test costs will be paid by the hiring department. Applicant test results will be provided to applicants requesting such in writing within 60 days of being notified of the University's decision not to hire.
