Both employees and managers need a place they can share sensitive work-related information for the purpose of seeking advice on how to comply with University policies and procedures. Employee Relations is available to provide such advice, as well as to receive information from employees and managers on a confidential basis to the extent provided by law.

It is the unit's practice that when information shared indicates that a serious breach of University Policy has occurred, is about to take place, or a dangerous situation is involved, there will be communication with the person(s) responsible for correcting the situation.

Discretion will be urged on the part of those receiving the information.

Retaliation against an individual for filing a complaint is prohibited and will not be tolerated. Any act of retaliation should be communicated immediately to Employee Relations.
