Term Details - Tax-deferred Savings Programs

A general term that refers to retirement savings plans which are regulated by the Internal Revenue Code; plans through which employees may defer either a percentage or specific dollar amount through payroll deductions, on a pre-federal and state tax basis; payment of taxes and applicable penalties occurs upon distribution from the plan.
