Term Details - Bona Fide Occupation Qualification (BFOQ)
A specific job-related requirement that is legitimate and considered a precursor to hiring a candidate for a position. Race cannot be a BFOQ, but other factors such as gender, age, religion, or national origin may in rare cases be a BFOQ, provided that reasonable proof exists for such a claim
