Term Details - Active Disciplinary Action

A disciplinary action that is used for the basis for further disciplinary action. Examples of disciplinary actions include written warning, disciplinary suspension without pay, demotion, or, dismissal. A disciplinary action becomes inactive when (1) The manager or supervisor notes in the employee’s personnel file that the reasons for the disciplinary action have been resolved or corrected; or (2) For performance-related disciplinary actions, the performance evaluation process documents an overall rating that reflects a rating of GOOD or higher and a rating of GOOD or higher in the area cited in the written warning or other disciplinary action, or (3) 18 months have passed since issuance of the action without another disciplinary action having been issued.
