Determining eligibility?

Prior to each calendar year, HR identifies NC State University employees who may be eligible for service recognition based on years of service with the university and/or the state, as applicable. After the employees are identified, HR contacts departmental HR representatives to assist with verifying years of service for service recognition. Once the service is confirmed by both HR and the department, HR distributes the service pins to the HR Representatives.

How will recipients be recognized?

Once service pins are distributed to college/unit, each will decide how and when to recognize its employees by presenting the service pin, along with the service certificate, and gift.

Additionally each year, employees who achieve 25 years of service will be honored by the Chancellor during the Quarter Century Breakfast where they receive their lapel pin, certificate and a commemorative engraved brick.

How will employees order their Service Gifts?

Approximately, 30-45 days prior to each anniversary date, HR will notify each eligible employee in writing to make them aware that he/she may order their gift online. Only employees who are eligible in that period will be allowed to access the online ordering system.

The gifts, once processed, will be shipped to each employee’s work address. Employees will be expected to provide their work shipping (street) address at the time of order.

Orders may take approximately 10 - 25 days for delivery.
