This course is designed to provide detailed information for the retirement programs offered at NC State University. Participants will learn the differences between Defined Benefit Plans, Defined Contribution Plans and Supplemental Retirement Plans. The course will focus on how TSERS (Teachers and State Employees Retirement System) functions and the legislation that governs it.

Objectives:
  • This course will provide detailed information for the retirement programs offered at NC State University.
  • Participant will know the differences between Defined Benefit Plans, Defined Contribution Plans and Supplemental Retirement Plans and the legislation that surrounds them.
  • Participants will learn how the Teachers and State Employees Retirement System (TSERS) and Optional Retirement Programs (ORP) operate.
