Your Bottom Line Costs

UTS is part of Human Resources but operates on a receipts-supported basis. The administrative fee pays for all UTS expenses, including

  • Staff,
  • Recruitment,
  • Equipment, and
  • Supplies.

UTS does not receive any budgeted funds; UTS must operate completely within its revenue. A breakdown of the costs associated with using UTS is below. UTS has calculated the totals to provide departments with a comparison to the industry standard bill rate. UTS work with departments to set the appropriate hourly rate for a temporary position. The fee follows from that rate, so the departments will always know the rate the employee is being paid.

Actual payroll is processed through the Human Resources Web System, and only the administrative fee appears on the department's NVision monthly report. These are example pay rates; skilled, professional, and technical positions will be paid above this range.

* Total Costs are compared to Bill Rate. Special benefits rates are charged to all accounts based on the department's OUC (0.3%-0.65%)

Note: UTS bill rates are usually much lower than rates of a private temporary placement agency.
