What do we do with Indirect Costs?

How Indirect Costs are spent

NC States relies on indirect costs to help support the cost of building, operating or leasing facilities for the research enterprise. Many of the world-class facilities and research programs on Centennial Campus have been built using indirect costs.

The university uses indirect costs to help cover the expense of research supplies and equipment, to pay for utilities, and to purchase library subscriptions and software for researchers to use.

We depend on them to help recruit and retain productive faculty, to train graduate students, and to provide vital support staff and administrative services for the research enterprise.
