Pre-requisites
All Computing Services workshops require that participants have basic computer skills and experience. The workshops are designed to enhance this foundation rather than to establish it. As a very minimum, each participant must be:
- Familiar with the Windows operating environment. Able to perform basic Windows file management functions such as:
- Folder and file creation, deleting and renaming
- File navigation
- Drag and drop
- Cut, Copy and Paste
- Open, Save, Save-As and Close
- Some workshops also require skills with Internet browsers such as:
- File and Internet navigation
- Key functions under the File, Edit and View menus
- Using search engines to locate internet based resources
Please make sure that you meet these basic prerequisites and all others that may be noted for a particular class. If you are unsure about meeting these requirements, you may want to observe the class prior to enrolling.
