Pre-requisites

All Computing Services workshops require that participants have basic computer skills and experience. The workshops are designed to enhance this foundation rather than to establish it. As a very minimum, each participant must be:

  1. Familiar with the Windows operating environment. Able to perform basic Windows file management functions such as:
    • Folder and file creation, deleting and renaming
    • File navigation
    • Drag and drop
    • Cut, Copy and Paste
    • Open, Save, Save-As and Close
  2. Some workshops also require skills with Internet browsers such as:
    • File and Internet navigation
    • Key functions under the File, Edit and View menus
    • Using search engines to locate internet based resources

Please make sure that you meet these basic prerequisites and all others that may be noted for a particular class. If you are unsure about meeting these requirements, you may want to observe the class prior to enrolling.
