What is a Unity Mac workstation?

Unity Macintosh workstations are G4 & G5 computers. They provide the latest Macintosh OS, but unlike other Macintosh computers at NC State, they are integrated into the Unity computing environment. You can log in to one of these computers using your Unity ID and password and then:

  • Access your Unity network file space as though it were a local hard drive on the workstation.
  • Use various email programs to access your NC State email account.
  • Print files using your Wolfcopy print quota.

Where are Unity Mac workstations located?

  • Unity computing labs. Each Unity lab has at least one Macintosh workstation.
  • College- and department-based computing labs. Some of these provide Unity Mac workstations. Check with the individual college or department to find out if its workstations are available to students outside their curricula. These labs may also provide:
    • Access to the Unity network and email
    • Software
    • Other resources.
