Edit Essentials Web pages using Macromedia Contribute (OIT Staff).
- You must have appropriate AFS permissions to edit Essentials pages. If you do not have permissions in the essentials-review (pts) group, this Contribute key will not work. Before proceeding, please check your file permissions. If you need assistance, send an email to ITD_PUBS@remedy.ncsu.edu.
- Download and save the essentials-review file (.zip file).
- Unpack the zip archive and save the Contribute key (.stc file) to your computer. Put the key in a place where you can easily find it again later.
Note: Do not double click the key.
- Launch the Contribute software.
Note: If you have trouble installing or launching Contribute please contact DEO staff for assistance. Contribute is available for Macintosh and PC systems only. If you want to use Contribute on any other system, e.g., Linux, you can access the Contribute image through VCL:
http:// vcl.ncsu.edu. The procedure for importing a key is the same in VCL, however, you will need to repeat the import procedure for each VCL session.
- Select Contribute -- > Edit My Connections or My Connections...
- Select Import.
- Browse to your Contribute key (essentials-review.stc).
- Select the key.
- Enter your full name and your email address. Enter "pubs" as your connection key password.
- Select Ok or Continue.
- On the SFTP login screen, enter your unityID and password.
Note: Once your connection is established you need not follow these steps again. The next time you make web edits, simply launch Contribute.
- Begin editing.
Notes:
For more information about content area(s) see the content coordinator list.
