AFS Path for a URL

If you've been granted specific access as a Web developer at NC State and you know the URL for a Web page at the University, you can look for the path to the folder where it is stored in AFS by following these steps:

  1. Go to "Locate an NCSU URL" (https://sysnews.ncsu.edu/tools-bin/locate-url).
NOTE: This tool is not available for general use. In addition, if you have not already logged in, you will need to do so.
  2. Enter the URL whose AFS path you want to find. To reduce the possibility of errors, copy and paste the URL instead of typing it.
  3. Select the Locate button.

This tool may not be able to find the AFS path for some URLs at NC State. Limitations are noted on the "Locate an NCSU URL" page.
