Listing Print Jobs (lpq)
You can check the default printer queue by issuing the lpq command.
If no files are waiting to be printed, you will receive a message indicating
that there are "no entries" waiting to be printed. Otherwise, you will see a
queue list, similar to the one below:
unity% lpq
Printer: bs-203-1 on print.ncsu.edu
Rank Owner Time Job ID File Size
1 daniel 1:48PM 20071 klpr.ps 1M
2 kaputnik 2:02PM 20072 logo.ps 252K
This listing may give you some idea of how long it will take for your job to
print or whether it has been printed already.
