Finding out where you are
If you ever wonder where you are in the file hierarchy, use the pwd commmand
to "print working directory."
For example, when in your home directory type pwd. You
should see something like the following
[sparc03]...kaputnik>pwd
/afs/unity.ncsu.edu/users/k/kaputnik
[sparc03]...kaputnik>
This can be very helpful information when you "get lost" while using the
directory shortcuts.
