Faculty Guide to Computing Resources
As an NC State faculty member, you have access to some of the finest computing
resources to be found on any major
university campus. These include a state-of-the-art data
network and state-of-the-art general purpose and
discipline-specific computing labs. In addition, the numerous Web pages in the Computing Essentials site offer you a wealth of basic and advanced how-to computing information (e.g., regulations, computing security, Unity account, email, personal computer recommendations, connecting to the campus network, Help Knowledgebase). This page introduces you to the specialized resources you can use as a faculty member.
Computing Security
- Get free antivirus software for your personal computer if it is connected to the campus network.
- Control access to your official online content with WRAP, offered by Web Services.
Online course resources
- Your students can submit homework, tests and projects using WebAssign.
- Create a course Web site with WebCT / Vista.
- Online course development and delivery is available from WolfWare.
- Add dynamic content to your NC State-hosted Web site with PHP Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP).
NOTE: Not available on WolfWare course servers or on the www4 server for personal Web pages.
