Biweekly Timesheets--holidays and overtime

Note: Record actual hours worked--on a daily basis.

University and ITD payroll regulations:

  1. ITD does not normally schedule work hours for temporary employees on official holidays. If holiday work is required, the employee will be paid 1 1/2 times the normal pay rate. Employees should be careful not to record time on holidays if those hours were not in fact worked. The supervisor's signing verifies actual hours worked. Actual hours recorded on timesheets will be paid--Business Services staff do not have time to verify hours worked.

  2. Overtime occurs when more than 40 hours are worked within a week, beginning on Saturday and ending on Friday.  More than 8 hours in 1 work day does not constitute overtime. However, continued excessive hours worked in a single day is a red flag to payroll. Overtime is paid at 1 1/2 times the normal pay rate.
