Services

ITD Systems provides a wide range of technology infrastructure and specialized services to the NC State community. A few examples of the services we provide are listed below. For more information, or to inquire about a service not listed, please contact us.

Email Services
Unity email is provided for all NC State faculty, staff, and students. By default, new accounts receive email accounts on the IMAP servers.

Web Services
Our Web Services unit uses the latest technologies to provide NC State's web page and application developers with a high performance Web environment. Some of the services we provide include authenticated access through WRAP, the Verity search engine, and virtual hosting for University organizations.

Unity/Windows computing environment
The Microcomputer Systems unit develops the Windows computing environment which is deployed in most of the University's student computing labs.

Unity/Solaris computing environment
The Unix Systems unit develops the Solaris computing environment used in the University's student computing labs.

System status information
Sysnews is used to provide information about information technology systems at NC State, including upcoming system outages, emergencies and other service changes. ITD, ComTech, ITECS, PAMS, WolfWare and WebAssign are among the groups that use Sysnews to communicate with the campus.

ITD NetWare Servers are used to provide authentication, directory services, file space for departments and students, application delivery, and printing services. Real-time status information is available.

WolfWare course lockers
WolfWare is a web-based course-management system which provides uniform course-locker creation and configuration across all courses taught at NC State.
