Communications and Networking Report

• The Infrastructure Subcommittee met on May 21. Switch upgrades, wireless deployment plans, data billing for FY 2002-2003 and the Infrastructure Project List were discussed. For more complete information, see meeting minutes:

• After more than six months of negotiations, the DELTA-ComTech Video Service Level Agreement for 2002-03 was completed on July 3. The final document is attached: http://www.ncsu.edu/it/ucsc/07-10-02/DELTA-ComTech-Video-SLA-2002.doc

• Wireless deployment plans are going forward. EGRC and Daniels will have full wireless access to the ComTech-supported university wireless network by mid-August. The next group of buildings scheduled for full wireless access are Biltmore, Harrelson, Jordan, Patterson, Bostian, Gardner, and Talley
  Student Center.

• ComTech anticpates being able to hire an Associate Director for Data Networking by mid-August.

• The Wireless Network AUP has gone through numerous revisions and should be ready for presentation to the IT Committee at the next meeting.
