Email -

ITD in cooperation with NCS has designed and tested a new online ultility for the submission of emergency broadcast and crime alert email messages to the campus. The system operates in accordance with NC State's Administrative Regulations - Computer Use, Section IV. D. It is in the process of being submitted to upper administration for approval.

Directory services -

LDAP development:

After many hours of collaboration with the Office of Legal Affairs, Registration and Records, NCS and others, ITD has devised a method of implementing LDAP which will fall within the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA) laws for student privacy. A prototype LDAP service which serves public information data is currently online: ldap.ncsu.edu. Meanwhile development continues to design a master database which will be used to populate production LDAP services on campus.
