Centennial Campus Communication Services

An RFP for carrier, network, ISP, and Cable TV services for Centennial Campus non-University tenants was issued in August. This RFP is intended to replace the service that Interpath is providing non-University tenants currently. The RFP was divided into four categories and vendors could bid on each separate category. The bid award was announced last week. The following are the awards:

• Carrier Services - BellSouth and Engineering Excellence* (AT&T)
• ISP - BellSouth and Engineering Excellence (AT&T)
• Network Services - Engineering Excellence (AT&T) and Computer Tech**
• Cable TV - no vendors bid on this service.

*Engineering Excellence is a reseller of AT&T services based in Atlanta.
**Computer Tech is a 17-year old company that provides a total technology solution for customers. They have an office in Raleigh and serve over 3,500 customers nationwide.

The transition to the new service providers will begin after the first of the year.
