The Information Security Department provides a central contact point for campus security. Functions include incident handling, abuse complaint investigations, network security monitoring, security consulting, security tools for lan admins, access control for ITD applications and services, and ssl certificate management.
NCSU has licensed Symantic AntiVirus Corporate Edition. It is available
for use on any university owned computer system and may also be used on
the personal systems of any current employed faculty or staff or currently
enrolled student of North Carolina State University.
Note: as of July 14th, 2004 University Regulation 08.00.10 requires the use of Anti-Virus Software on
all Windows and Mac computers.
