"California Coast Excursions Part II - The Gardens & Arboreta of the
San Francisco Bay Area"
With the greater Los Angeles area behind us, we are now planning to visit the second of three jewels in the Golden State. The Bay Area is a noted treasure trove of horticultural hangouts, all nurtured by a distinctly Mediterranean climate, which changes rapidly, with every inland mile eastward. You'll be amazed by the grand urban escapes in the heart of San Francisco, the idyllic coastal setting for botanic gardens and arboreta, and the blending of the vine country and gardens in the Napa and Sonoma region just north of San Francisco.
This lecture is in the York Auditorium in the Ruby C. McSwain Education Center at the JCRA and begins at 7:30 PM. There is plenty of free parking in the Arboretum's parking lot and along Beryl Road. Driving directions to the JCRA are available on the JCRA Web site. Please call (919) 515-3132 if you have additional questions this event.
Friends of the Arboretum lectures are free to those with current membership. There is a $5.00 fee for non-members. Please bring your membership card. We will have a current membership list at the door. Memberships will be available for purchase at the door. Entrance is free to all NC State students with ID and Department of Horticultural Science faculty and staff.
