Proceeds from this event will be donated to the N.C. Agriculture Foundation for continued support and expansion of the J.C. Raulston Arboretum. Sean H. McNeely, 27, of Raleigh, NC passed away November 30, 1998 at UNC Medical Center from an allergic reaction to something he had eaten. The proceeds from this Poker Run along with many private contributions will be donated to the Arboretum and will determine the type of permanent memorial that will be done in Sean's honor. As a student, Sean spent many hours in the Arboretum, and was proud of plants that he had propagated from cuttings taken from some of the plants there. In addition, Sean was a motorcycle enthusiast, Harley owner and loved riding his XL 1200 Sportster Custom whenever he had a spare moment. If you have contributions, prizes and/or would like to help with this event in some way please contact Brian McNeely.
For those of you not familiar with the concept:
A poker run is a progressive ride where the rider goes to several stops, picks up tokens to prove they've been there, and returns to the starting place, thus winning the chance to draw a hand of cards. The winning hand wins the prize.
