Boxwood Collection
The
boxwood (Buxus) collection at the JCRA is acknowledged by American
Boxwood Society members as one of the most important ones in the United States.
As of January 2001, there were 75 taxa represented. Through contacts with A.B.S.
members, we have acquired cutting-edge newly-named cultivars, as well as newly-introduced
ones of historical importance. The JCRA participates in the National Boxwood
Trials, and in 2001, was represented on the Boxwood Expedition to the Republic
of Georgia. In our area, boxwoods are unsurpassed as low hedges and have minimal
problems in the landscape.
The Boxwood Collection is a popular area for outdoor parties and other events. For details, please visit our Facility Rental section.
