Don't 'Leaf' Confused!

Do you have a difficult time identifying these xeric plants? Here are some leaf characteristics that will make it easier to distinguish these sun-loving genera:

  • Edges appear smooth, but have tiny serrations

  • Leaves are long, flat, and narrow
  • Edges are toothed, like a saw

Hesperaloe

Hesperaloe

  • Leaves are long, narrow, and deeply channeled
  • Edges have curly, thread-like filaments
